PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a terminal adapter managing system capable of performing initial setting and updating of line connection information or rate table, which is stored in the memory of a terminal adapter in relation to a fixed connection function, an automatic dial function and a routing function, from a service center via a communication network. SOLUTION: This terminal adapter managing system is provided with a service center 3 connected via communication networks 1 and 2A-2N to plural terminal adapters 10 and 10A and this service center performs initial setting and updating of party telephone numbers, company identification numbers, exchange telephone numbers and rate table previously stored in the memory of each terminal adapter via the communication network. Each of terminal adapter sends the party telephone number, company identification number or exchange telephone number corresponding to the off-hook of a telephone set connected thereto and performs the fixed connection function, automatic dial function or routing function.
