PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plated steel sheet for a welded can capable of electric resistance welding in a state of non-grinding and excellent in adhesion for a coating material and corrosion resistance. SOLUTION: At least one side of the surfaces in a steel sheet is formed with an Sn-Fe-Ni alloy layer of 0.01 to 2g/m2 expressed in terms of metallic Sn by coating weight per side, insular metallic Sn of 0.1 to 2.2 g/m2 is dispersed into the surface of the Sn-Fe-Ni alloy layer, further, a metallic Cr layer of 30 to 150 mg/m2 and a Cr hydrated oxide layer of 5.0 to 30.0 mg/m2 are successively formed, and moreover, as for the thickness of the metallic Cr layer, the ratio between the average thickness (tCr)Sn on the insular metallic Sn and the average thickness (tCr) of the other part, i.e., (tCr)Sn/(tCr) is controlled to >=1.0. The coating ratio of the metallic Sn is preferably controlled to 10 to 80%.
