PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk device and a tracking detection method capable of exactly controlling a light beam to an information recording track by exactly eliminating the offset of a tracking error signal. SOLUTION: A second track deviation detecting signal is produced on the basis of signals obtained by respectively detecting a plurality of land prepits constituting a prepit group by inputting an output signal of a photodetector 4 receiving the reflected light of the optical disk 1 whereon the prepit group consisting of a plurality of land prepits arranged on the land parts for every period of the wobble of groove is recorded at the position having the different phase in the circumferential direction of the disk between adjacent land parts in the radial direction of the disk, and a wobble clock W from a wobble signal detecting part 10 or margin bit flag M from a reproduced signal processing part 14. By this procedure, the offset of a first track deviation detecting signal due to the push-pull method is corrected.
