PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the method for writing a mark or space which is exactly arranged in the space. SOLUTION: The optical disk is provided with spatial features (notch, bump, etc.), which intentionally distorts an analog read data signal. This distortion, in the case of the mark or space placed on the center of the spatial feature, does not affect a binary read data signal as the result. When the edge of the mark or space exists in the vicinity of the spatial feature, the binary read data signal as the result is changed. For the purpose of calibration, the mark or space is written adjacent to the spatial feature within the time range for starting the write-in. Consequencly, the time range of the write-in not changing the binary read data signal is arranged. The time when the mark or space should be written for ensuring an exact spatial arrangement is recognized from this already known time and the spatial position.
