PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat developable photosensitive material which ensures very small expansion and contraction of the base before and after heat development, good sharpening of the toe, high Dmax and good adhesion to the base, a heat developable photosensitive material for printing having good image quality and scuffing resistance and free from color smear and a heat developable photosensitive material for printing adaptable to color printing and high definition printing and processed by perfectly dry processing. SOLUTION: Each of the heat developable photosensitive materials contains an organic silver salt, silver halide, a developing agent and a vinyl compound on the base and is imagewise exposed and heat developed. The rate of thermal dimensional change of each of the photosensitive materials is <0.04% under heat development conditions which make the maximum density of the exposed part >=4.0 and the density of the unexposed part <=0.2.
