PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video camera, a camera control device and a video camera system that are compatible with a variety of formats without causing the increase of dimensions. SOLUTION: The video camera system is provided with a CCU 11 which includes a format request section that receives at least one command set internally or externally to decide the format of a video signal outputted from a video camera 12 and provides an output of a format request FRQ to the video camera 12 so that the video camera outputs a video signal with the format based on the command, which receives the video signal outputted from the video camera 12, applies the variety of signal processing methods such as delicate color correction to the video signal and outputs the result to a switcher and a VTR. The video camera is further provided with the video camera 12 that has a video signal control section which can output video signals of a plurality of formats and outputs a video signal of a designated format to the CCU 11 in response to the format request FRQ sent from the CCU 11.
