PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that the power-saving effect by a method for reducing the power consumption by placing an information processor in a stand by state when the information processor is not used for a certain time is not sufficient as compared with a case wherein the power source is turned off and the problem that the power consumption increases when the power source is repeatedly turned on and off. SOLUTION: This method has a means for recording records of power-ON /OFF operation in history information 23, a means which generates statistic information 24 according to data of the history information 23, a means which judges whether or not a power-OFF state is held by referring to the statistic information 24 in the case of within a core time being a predetermined time zone when power-OFF operation is done and holds the disconnection of the power source for a predetermined hold time when so, and a means which extends the hold time when the information processor 10 is use during the holding mode.
