DIRECTORY SERVER IN DISTRIBUTED OBJECT SYSTEM, DEVICE FOR DEALING WITH DISTRIBUTED OBJECT ENVIRONMENT, ITS CONTROLLING METHOD AND RECORDING MEDIUM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the degree of service quality objectively evaluated in such a manner that a directory server actually tires the service as information to clients and to perform an alternate service for backing up the service that goes down between the clients, in a system where a plurality of the same services are arranged. SOLUTION: This directory server performs a processing for utilizing respective services registered in a management table as a simulated client (S13 and S14 to S18), detects the quality of the utilized services (S14 and S19) and evaluates the detected quality by a preliminarily defined quality evaluation function. The directory server stores the evaluation results as the registered attributes of the services in the management table (S20) and replies the evaluation results in accordance with an inquiry from a client. When the evaluation results do not meet a prescribed reference, the registration of the services are eliminated from the management table.
