PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To exactly record and reproduce information signals by exactly scan ning the prescribed position of a disk without being affected by the vertical movement occurring in the wobbling of the surface of the rotatably driven disk. SOLUTION: The head device has a head supporting arm 75 which supports a head element 72a for scanning the one main surface of the rotatably driven magneto-optical disk 30 on the front part and is extended onto the one main surface of the magneto-optical disk 30 and a head supporting member 95 which movably supports the head supporting arm 75 movably over the inner and outer peripheries of the magneto-optical disk 30. The head supporting arm 75 is supported at the arm supporting member 95 across a displacement part X2 where the head element 72a of the magneto-optical disk 30 exists at approximately the same height as the height of the slidable contact surface or on a lower side. The head element 72a is displaced around the displacement part X2 in a direction where the element attaches and detaches to and from the one main surface of the magneto-optical disk 30.
