PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively decide the usable band of each storage device in accordance with the number of storage devices in an on-line state in a server system. SOLUTION: This server system includes a server and a plurality of storage devices interconnected to the server through a network, and the server is provided with an on-line state detecting part for detecting a storage device in an on-line state which can be accessed by the server among the plurality of storage devices, an available band deciding part for deciding the available band of the storage devices in the on-line state on the basis of the number of the storage devices in the on-line state, a band managing part for deciding whether to allow access to a specified storage device on the basis of the available band of the specified storage device in response to an access request to the specified storage device among the storage devices in the on-line state, and an access performing part for implementing the access to the specified storage device when the access to the specified storage device is permitted.
