PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the staining of an electrifying wire in every specified period after every time, when a power supply is turned on, and to prevent thereby an adhesive matter from dropping to the surface of a photoreceptor drum as a lump at the time of cleaning. SOLUTION: The electrifying wire 323 is easily vibrated and cleaned without taking labor and man-hour for cleaning, as it did in the conventional manner, with just simple constitution where at least two wires 323 are disposed in parallel and a DC voltage and an AC voltage are switchably applied to the wires 323. With this arrangement, matter stuck to the wire 323 can be made to drop in a state where the stuck amount is extremely small every time when the wire 323 is vibrated, whereby the staining of the wire 323 is reduced. Therefore, collective adhering to the surface of the photoreceptor drum 31 of the adhesive matter to the wire 323, as is the case in the conventional manner can be prevented. Moreover, image failure before periodical cleaning operation in an adverse service condition (high temperature and high humidity), as in the conventional manner, can be eliminated.
