PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an FTP server, with which an unspecified user can freely upload a file, only a specified user can download the uploaded file, while keeping the secrecy of the uploaded file and the files of large capacity can be surely uploaded and downloaded at high speed with a simple operation and a file transfer method therefor. SOLUTION: It is set to an anonymous user by a non-display setting part 11 not to display the list of the file names of files stored in a file storage memory 13, under the management of a file managing part 12, the file and the file name inputted via a communication control part 14 are stored in the file storage memory 13 and corresponding to the file name inputted via the communication control part 14, the file stored in the file storage memory 13 is read out and outputted to the communication control part 14.
