PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording type optical disk, wherein no pit signal omission or tracking signal disturbance occurs even in the part of switching from a pit string to a guiding groove. SOLUTION: This recording type optical disk is provided with a reproducing only area B1 having a pit string P formed, a recording/reproducing area B3 having a guiding groove G1 formed, and a middle area B2 formed between the areas B1 and B3. The bottom surface Pa of the pit string P and the bottom surface G1a of the guiding groove G1 are located on the same plane and, in the middle area B2, a guiding groove G2 is formed to have a bottom surface G2a located in a position different from the bottom surface G1a of the guiding groove G1. |
