PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the easiness of handling or convenience of a holding type scanner concerning a scanner which can be used as a stationary type scanner and a holding type scanner. SOLUTION: A main body part 17 is positioned at a stationary reading position by means 14 and 22 for supporting and positioning the main body part 17 at the stationary reading position, and the main body part 17 is connected to the stationary reading position so as to be freely extendable by a supporting member 19, and the supporting member 19 is provided with flexibility for preventing the free movement of the main body part 17 from being constrained and rigidity for supporting the main body part 17. |
