PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-toughness pile having the toughness increased by connecting a pile head to a foundation structure almost by means of pin jointing and lessening the bending moment, generated during earthquakes, of the head pile for the purpose of making the cross sections of the pile and the foundation structure small. SOLUTION: The pile head is half-fixedly connected to the foundation structure through the medium of a shear deformation member such as laminated rubber, etc., formed as a alternate layer composed of a steel pipe and a friction reducing member or natural rubber and an iron plate between the pile head and the foundation structure.
