PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an anode foil for an aluminum electrolytic capacitor, with which a loss during manufacture is reduced so as to obtain an anode foil for the aluminum electrolytic capacitor with stable quality. SOLUTION: This method for manufacturing an anode foil for an aluminum electrolytic capacitor has an etching step and a chemical step and is provided with a means to test with a constant current an etching foil 4 obtained in the etching step, a means for calculating a chemical condition from the constant- current test, and a means for transferring the calculated chemical condition to a control board 8 and to set it automatically. Thus, an anode foil 11 having a stable quality which produces a small loss during production can be obtained.
