PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem in the stability of balance correction with recent optical disk devices as the widening of a range of the number of revolutions progresses on account of diversification of the kinds of disks parallel with the increasingly higher speeds of disk rotation and to eliminate the cause for the deterioration of the reliability of the optical disk device. SOLUTION: This optical disk device has a movable member movable in a radial direction between the disk and the balance correction device, a pressing plate which abuts on the balance member in an annular orbit and a conversion mechanism which converts the movement in the radial direction of the movable member to an axial direction and moves the pressing plate in the axial direction such that the vibration in a wide range region of the number of revolutions of the imbalance disk is suppressed.
