OPTICAL INVADER SENSING SYSTEM USING MODE COUPLING

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical invader sensing system using a mode coupling. SOLUTION: This optical invader sensing system is constituted by including a light source 100, a light detector 102 for distributing the light transmitted through a multimode optical fiber 101 and emitted from the light source 100, plural detectors 103 and 104 for detecting intensity of the light distributed by the light detector 102 and a discriminating part 105 for discriminating the existence of an invader by performing a prescribed operation on output signals outputted from these respective detectors. The light coupled between modes is distributed as the light advances in the multimode optical fiber. A dynamic change in a light signal and a static change in a light loss by physical disturbance of the invader can be simultaneously measured by making a comparison by performing the prescribed operation on the output signals obtained by respectively measuring the intensity of the light distributed in this way to provide the optical invader sensing system using the mode coupling capable of design reflecting an external environment in designing a light distributor.
