METHOD, SYSTEM AND PROGRAM FOR DECIDING SYSTEM CONFIGURATION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for deciding the configuration of a computer system having a planar device. SOLUTION: A read operation is carried out on a planar configuration memory 32 instructing respective planar devices 4, 6, 8, 10, 12 and 14 connectable to a planar board 2 on address. The configuration memory 32 to the respective available planar devices decides whether or not there is the address of a connection device which decides the memory 32 and also can be accessed via the planar devices. A read instruction is sent to the address of each connection device instructed by the memory 32 for the planar devices in order to decide configuration information with respect to each connection device and further to decide whether or not there is further another connection device accessible to the connection device.
