SOLUTION: An upper probe holder 10 moves up and down, and an upper prove 4 and a press down bar 26 is mounted on it. On the other hand, a guide post 22 is fixed to a device, and a bottom probe holder 20 wherein a bottom probe 3 is mounted is fixed to the guide post 22. Further, a tray installation plate 24 moves up and down along the guide post 22. Prior to the charging and discharging, an upper probe holder 10 descends, and finally the tray installation plate 24 is stuck to the bottom probe holder 20. At this time, both probes 3, 4 let a battery 2 inside a tray 1 float from the bottom surface of a recess to let the battery 2 stand straight. If charging and discharging is performed in this state, the entire surface of the spike of the probe tip is abutted on an electrode of the battery, and a contact resistance will almost disappear enabling to carry out charging and discharging normally.
