PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To rapidly remove the static electricity electrified in the carriers housed in a carrier housing rack in the state of loading the carrier housing rack into an automatic carrier recording and reproducing device. SOLUTION: The carrier housing rack of the automatic carrier recording and reproducing device which selects the carrier from the carrier housing rack housing the plural carriers, places this carrier in a recording and reproducing section by a carrier transporting means and records and reproduces information constitutes an approximately rectangular parallelepiped exposing part of the carriers by having open parts on a carrier transporting means side and a top surface side and is provided with the plural carriers in juxtaposition approximately parallel to both flanks thereof. Both flanks are provided with through- holes and the rack is provided with removing means which are pivotally supported in both through-holes and move along the outer peripheries of the exposed carriers.
