PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrodeposition film excellent in the weather resistance of an outer panel portion of a car body, and the finishing property and the throwing power of electrolytic coloring of an inner panel portion (a tubular area), and the corrosion resistance. SOLUTION: This cation electrodeposition coating method comprises a step (1) of forming an electrodeposition coating by applying an electrodeposition coating composition 1 with high weather resistance and finishing property to a metal work having a tubular structure such as the car body, a step (2) of water-rinsing the work having the electrodeposition coating obtained in the above step, removing the excessively adhered electrdeposition coating composition 1, pre-heating the obtained electrodeposition film at 60-120 deg.C, and removing water and bubbles included in the film, a step (3) of forming the electrodeposition film by applying the electrodeposition coating composition 2 to the work having the electrodeposition film obtained in the above step, a step (4) of water- rinsing the work having the electrodeposition film obtained in the above step to remove the excessively adhered electrodeposition coating composition 2, and removing water or performing the air blow, and a step (5) of simultaneously heating and solidifying the film.
