PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exterior package designing device capable of making shelling and producing a product exterior package part solid model even when the offset surfaces of respective adjacent surfaces of the exterior package surface of the original product solid model become discontinuous from each other, and a recording medium. SOLUTION: A shape information storing part 2000 recording product shape information being an external storage device such as a magnetic disk and a temporary shape information storing part 3000 utilized in the case of performing shape processing are connected to a device body 1000, and a display 5000 such as a CRT as an output device, a printer and a plotter 6000 are connected to the body 1000. A mouse and a keyboard 4000 being input devices with which an operator operates this device are also connected.
