The reinforcing rod machining device has an alignment machine (5) for supplying aligned reinforcing rods to a number of stacked reception profiles (10), with a cutting device (13) at their alignment machine ends for trimming off the reinforcing rods and a second cutting device (14) set inwards from this end by the length of the shorter reinforcing rods, for separating each of the reinforcing rods into long and short sections (11,12).
