A hydrogen absorbing alloy, characterized in that it is cast into a scaly form or an analogous form thereto having a thickness of 50 to 500 νm and crystallites in the alloy have a degree of orientation such that, when an X-ray diffraction patterns are taken under a condition wherein the cooling end face of a scaly cast product is placed parallel with a sample table, a ratio of diffraction peak intensities (002)/(200) falls in the range of 2 to 10; and a method for the production of the hydrogen absorbing alloy.
|
