<p>An organic EL display comprising a transparent electrode pattern provided just above the substrate and hardly viewed by the viewer when the organic EL element does not emit light. A transparent anode layer (11) immediately above a transparent substrate (10) is patterned into a shape corresponding to the emission pattern. A dummy pattern (13) is provided on the same plane as that of the anode layer in the display area (12) and electrically isolated from the anode layer. The dummy pattern is made of the same material as that of the anode layer and has the same thickness as that of the anode layer. Thus the interface between the transparent substrate and the layers (the anode layer and the dummy layer) made of the anode layer material is formed over the whole display arear. When the organic EL element does not emit light, light reflected from the interface is uniformly produced over the whole display area.</p> |
