<p>The present invention is for a method of collecting, storing and retrieving vehicle safety information. This comprises collecting onto a first storage area identification information for a roadway vehicle obtained by means of a camera, then collecting onto a second storage area safety information about said roadway vehicle obtained by means of an infrared video camera. The identification information and safety information is then correlated on a record and then stored in a third storage area, the latter being accessible for searching by an operator for the identification information and retrieval of the record. The invention also provides an apparatus for carrying out the foregoing method.</p> |
