A client transmits the input information inputted into an external device to a server, requires a processing, receives the output information from the server, outputs it to the external device, and initializes an input/output unit by means of initializing information received from the server. The server transmits the initializing information for initializing the input/output unit when it receives a request for connection from the client, processes the input information received from the client while being connected, and transmits the output information to the client. The server administers the connection with the client and interrupts the processing by an application processing unit if the communication with the client is interrupted, and holds the state during the interrupt and the output information outputted to the client. When the communication with the client is recovered, the server transmits again the initializing information to the client so as to conduct initialization, and resumes the processing by the application processing unit and the transmission of the output information.
