The present invention relates to an arrangement for evacuating gas by suction, particularly in respect of the handling of vehicle exhaust gases, wherein the arrangement comprises a suction channel 10 that includes a longitudinally extending seal 16 which can be lifted along a free edge 18, a carriage 40 that is moveable along the channel 10 and that includes means 46 for lifting temporarily the free sealing edge 18 and creating gas communication between the channel 10 and a suction hose 1 which has a first end 2 that can be connected to the exhaust pipe of the vehicle 100 and a second end 3 which is connected to a carriage 40. The carriage 40 carries a longitudinally extending seal 50 and the channel 10 includes a longitudinally extending projection 20 against which the seal 50 on said carriage abuts. The carriage seal 50 is biased into abutment with an underside of the projection 20 on the channel 10. |
