The bin (1) has a closure device with an upper filling opening, which can be closed by a lid. The lid is secured by a key-operated lock cylinder to prevent unauthorized opening. An edge (3) is arranged at the outside of the bin in the upper area of the filling opening, which limits an intermediate space (7) between the outer wall (6) of the bin and the inner side of the edge. The closure device has a casing in the intermediate space. The lock cylinder drives a closure bolt (42), which co-operates with a closure counter bearing, so that the closure bolt can be engaged with the counter bearing by rotating the key, but can also be unlocked by sliding two closure casing parts against each other by a compressing spring element.
