The data box is arranged between a data acquisition source and a cash register in an existing cash register system and contains a data filter (4), data processor (5) and data transmission (6) modules. A reverse signal path into the data box for a current cash register function is implemented between the data filter and data processor via a translation table (10) to ECR evaluation data.
