PURPOSE: A clearance controlling device is provided to automatically control clearance by checking the clearance between a wheel drum and a brake pad with change of hydraulic pressure. CONSTITUTION: A device for controlling clearance comprises a brake pedal(11) mounted on an actuation unit(10); a master cylinder(12) generating hydraulic pressure by pressurizing brake fluid according to the brake pedal; a brake pad(22) braking a wheel drum(21) according to the hydraulic pressure; a braking unit(20) containing the brake pad; a pipe(30) connecting the actuation unit and the braking unit; an inlet port(40) letting the brake fluid from the actuation unit; an outlet port(50) discharging the brake fluid from the braking unit; a cylinder member having the inlet/outlet ports; and a piston assemblage. The cylinder member is divided an inlet space unit and an outlet space unit. The piston assemblage isolates the inlet space unit from the outlet space unit by the brake fluid.
