<p>A butt welding system for welding materials to be welded which are steel sheets mounted on the tope surface of a table in a welding stage, with their end surfaces abutting against each other, wherein a welding head is a combination laser/arc welding head for welding materials to be welded by concurrent laser beam irradiating and arc discharging performed on the materials (38) to be welded, and the vertical position of its arc electrode (40) with respect to the materials (38), its position with respect to a direction perpendicular to the optical axis direction of the laser beam (32) applied to the materials (38), and its inclination angle with respect to the optical axis of the laser beam (32) are made adjustable.</p> |
