INACTIVATED JAPANESE B ENCEPHALITIS VACCINE AND PROCESS FOR PRODUCING THE SAME

摘要

An inactivated Japanese B encephalitis virus (JEV) vaccine containing a viral antigen material which is highly purified from an established cell line infected with JEV or a culture supernatant thereof. A process for highly purifying JEV from a virus solution obtained by infecting Vero cells (i.e., an established cell line originating in African green monkey kidney cells) with JEV and then culturing the infected cells; and an inactivated JEV vaccine which contains the JEV antigen obtained by the above process and is substantially free from any nucleic acid or protein originating in the cells.
