This power supply system 1 comprises: an alternator 4 that generates electric power according to the number of revolutions of an engine 2 mounted in a vehicle and charges predetermined battery 3; an output means 5 for outputting the electric power from the charged battery 3 to the outside; a power generation control means 8 that detects the current amount of the electric power transmitted from the battery 3 to the output means 5 and sets the number of engine revolutions according to the detected current amount; and an engine control means 9 that controls the number of revolutions of the engine 2 in accordance with the number of engine revolutions set by the power generation control means 8.
