<p>The present invention provides an adjustable frame member (44) for a chair seat frame (66) and a lockable alignment tool (300) which is implemented between the chair seat frame (66) and an attachable seat back (68). Initially, the chair seat frame (66) is pre-assembled such that the adjustable frame member (44) is in a non-rigid state, therefore allowing for side to side skewing motion of the chair seat frame (66). The lockable alignment tool (300) is mounted onto the seat back (68), in its unlocked position. Once the lockable alignment tool (300) is mounted to the seat back (68), it is locked such that its length is fixed. The lockable alignment tool (300) is then removed from the seat back (68) and mounted onto the seat frame (14). As the lockable alignment tool (300) is mounted onto the seat frame (14), skewing motion of the seat frame (14) is caused as the seat frame (14) aligns with the lockable alignment tool (300). Once the lockable alignment tool (300) has been fully mounted to the chair frame (14), screws are used to lock the adjustable frame member (44). As such, the adjustable frame member (44) becomes a rigid structure. The lockable alignment tool (300) is then removed and overall assembly may be completed with proper alignment between the chair seat frame (14) and back (68) ensured.</p> |
