Hydro-mechanical deep-drawing method for flat metal sheets uses ultrasound coupled into active medium and directed against formed part base

The clamped metal sheet is formed by a die against the pressure of a fluid active medium. Sound directed against the base of the formed component is coupled into the active medium. This takes place towards the end of the forming process, while the medium is at constant pressure, from the side opposite to the press die, and for a period of a few seconds. The forming appliance has a lower tool (5) with a sound generator (15) to transmit into the active medium, to direct the ultrasound against the press die (1).
