The present invention provides multi-protein complexes, and sub-complexes thereof, and methods of producing the same. Preferably, the complexes compri se an NMDA receptor. The present invention further provides methods of identifying a compound for treating disorders and conditions associated with dysfunction of NMDA receptors in the central nervous system. Additionally, there are provided methods of diagnosing or aiding diagnosis of disorders an d conditions associated with dysfunction of NMDA receptors in the central nervous system.
