PURPOSE: A method for tracing a web site visitor is provided to analyze interesting contents, propensity, and taste of the visitor by tracing a log-in data and time as soon as the visitor visits a web site, and information and stayed time of a page opened during the navigation of the web site, recording all motions of the visitor until log-out. CONSTITUTION: If a visitor is connected with a web site through the Internet, a home page is opened(S102). An IP address and a login time of the visitor are stored, and a navigation trace is started(S104). It is judged whether a uniform time elapses(S106). If the uniform time does not elapse, it is judged whether it is moved from a home page to an A.HTML page or a B.HTML page(S108). In case of moving to the A.HTML page, it is judged whether a converted page is a home page of another site(S110). In case that it is converted into the home page of another site, a log-out time is stored a trace DB(S124). In case that it is not converted into the home page of the other site and is moved to the A.HTML page of a corresponding web page, the A.HTML page is opened(S112). A current time is stored as a closed time of the home page(S114). Keyword information of the A.HTML page is read from a keyword DB and read keyword information is stored in the trace DB(S118).
