The present purification process is characterized in that (a) raw acrylic acid is subjected to distillation at a temperature ranging from 25 to 100 degC with the addition of 0.1 to 2.0 mole, based on the total molar amount of aldehydes, maleic acid and anhydride thereof contained in the raw acrylic acid, at least one amine of the group A, being selected from a group comprising (i) primary arylamine of the general formula IV, in which Xi3 represents the group -COOH or -COORe6 wherein Re6 represents alkyl containing 1 to 6 carbon atoms, and (ii) alkanol amine of the general formula V, in which Re7 represents alkylene having 2 to 6 carbon atoms, (b) at least one amine of the group B is simultaneously added during distillation in an amount ranging from 0.01 to 1.0 mole, based on the total molar amount of aldehydes, maleic acid and anhydride thereof contained in the raw acrylic acid, and being selected from a group comprising o-, m- and p-phenylene diamine, 4-nitrophenyl hydrazine and 2,4-d |
