A novel meat-potato food product in a pastry casing is obtained from minced meat ('Hackepeter'), potatoes and spices, where the minced meat is mixed with an equal weight of cooked potatoes; chopped onions are added at 10-20% of the overall weight; salt, pepper and spices are added; the meat-potato mass is fried until cooked; the product is enclosed in yeast dough; and the assembly is baked. An Independent claim is included for a variant on the above product, where the minced meat is mixed with chopped onions at 10-20% of the overall weight; salt, pepper and spices are added; the mixture is formed into small rolls or cubes then fried until cooked; cooked potatoes are formed into a puree, mixed with cooked onions, salt, pepper and spices and formed into small rolls or cubes; and a meat-based roll or cube and a potato-based roll or cube are together enclosed in yeast dough; and the product is baked. In a further variant the meat-based and potato-based rolls or cubes are separately enclosed in yeast dough before baking. |
