The transverse extrusion head has a housing built onto the extruder containing an internal supply channel at an angle to the direction of extrusion. The extrudate will form the tubular coating of a product. The passage surrounds the product and has an internal distribution section followed by an annular, tapering extrusion tool which is interchangeably fastened to the end face of the casing. The passage surrounds a conical guide nipple, its outer surface forming the inner extrusion mandrel. The outer extrusion tool (7, 8, 9) is an integral unit fastened demountably onto the housing (1). The distribution channel (4) outer axial face locates directly in the plane of separation (17) between the casing and the extrusion tool. |
