An electromagnetically actuatable valve includes a core and an armature, each having a respective end face. The end faces are aligned and opposing. One of the end faces has a spherically-curved contour, and the other of the end faces defines a conical surface with respect to a longitudinal axis of the valve. At least one of the end faces may include a wear-resistant coating. At least one of the end faces may be surface-hardened.
