PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filter element easy to mount and excellent in sealing capacity, and a filter apparatus. SOLUTION: The inner filter element 11 housed in a casing 2 has an outer peripheral wall part 14, which is positioned on the outer peripheral side of a filter medium 12 and comprises an elastic material having a sealing function, at one end part thereof and the outer peripheral wall part 14 is fitted in a cylindrical part 6 so as to come into close contact with the inner surface of the cylindrical part 6 disposed in the casing 2. The outer peripheral wall part 14 of the inner filter element 11 is formed so that the outer diameter on the side opposed to one end part of the filter element thereof is larger than that of one end part of the filter element and a recessed groove 15 is formed to the outer peripheral wall part from the upper surface part 14a on the side opposed to one end part thereof toward the one end part. |
