PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the formation of gaps between the face of an inner plinth and wall surface, etc., through which light leaks when furniture is installed close to the wall surface, etc., in a furniture supporting device provided with the inner plinth part which can be elevated and lowered at the plinth part of the bottom part of a furniture main body. SOLUTION: The supporting device is provided with both an outer plinth 3 mounted to the bottom part of the furniture main body 2 and the inner plinth 4 elevation/lowering-freely fitted in the outer plinth 3. At least the outer plinth 3 is constituted in the shape of a rectangular frame in a plan shape of both front and rear side plates 7 in parallel with the right and left width directions of the furniture main body 2 and sheet materials 8 to connect both ends of the front and rear side plates 7. A vertical long member 42 to fill level differences with the surfaces of both end sheet materials 8 of the outer plinth 3 is mounted to both end parts of the inner plinth 4 adjacent to the inside of both end sheet materials 8 of the outer plinth 3. A vertically long fitting part 43 in which the vertical long member 42 is freely fitted in such a way as to be elevated and lowered with the elevation and lowering of the inner plinth 4 is formed in both end sheet materials 8 of the outer plinth 3.
