PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a carcinostatic agent capable of exhibiting excellent antitumor effects on malignant slid tumors. SOLUTION: This pharmaceutical preparation comprises anthrapyridone-based compound represented by formula (I) (wherein, e.g. R1 denotes hydrogen atom, methyl group or N,N-dimethylaminoethyl group; R2 denotes hydrogen atom or hydroxyl group; R3 denotes hydrogen atom or methyl group; R4 denotes hydrogen atom) or its pharmacologically acceptable salt as an active ingredient. R1=R2=R3=R4; R1=CH3; R2=R3=R4=H; R1=CH3; R2=OH; R3=R4=H; R1= CH2CH2NMe2; R2=R3=R4=H; R1=R2=R4=H; and R3=CH3 are cited as specific compounds.
