PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the reliability of the sorting function of a thrown-in article in a container collapsing machine. SOLUTION: A pair of flaps 11 are arranged on the right and left in a throw-in port of the container collapsing machine 1, and a shutter 12 is provided behind the flaps. The pair of flaps facing each other are closed by a spring, an empty PET bottle or an empty can thrown in onto the flaps slide down on the flaps descending toward the shutter, and dropped into a collapsing device 9 therebelow when the shutter is opened, and collapsed thereby. When a glass bottle, etc., heavier than the empty PET bottle, etc., is thrown in, the flaps are opened, the thrown-in article is dropped, and not fed to the collapsing device.
