PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packaging apparatus wherein stretchability of a stretch- wrap film can be improved without increasing a cost. SOLUTION: The invention relates to the packaging apparatus including a packaging mechanism 200 for carrying a film F while feeding it to a packaging station S and folding the film F onto a bottom of an article M which has been pushed onto the packaging station S and a heat-welding section 10 for welding the film F folded onto the bottom. A cover device 3 for covering the packaging station S is provided, and the heat-welding section 10 is placed in a space covered by the cover device 3.
