PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device with a function for precisely measuring the ventilation quantity when a patient of the intermittent positive pressure type ventilation assisting therapy uses a respiration assisting device, keeping the effect of air leakage from an expiration outlet or other parts including the contact part between a mask and the patient's face to a minimum. SOLUTION: The intermittent positive pressure type artificial respiration assisting device comprises a flow rate measuring means for measuring the quantity of air fed from a positive pressure air generating means, a pressure detecting means for detecting the pressure of the positive pressure air, and an operation means for operating the quantity of ventilation of a user based on the result of the measurement by the flow rate measuring means and the result of the measurement by the pressure measuring means.
