摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the deformation of a component due to the clamping force of a chuck in cutting the hub of a spindle motor without complicating the mechanism of the chuck. SOLUTION: Eight claws 11-18 are formed on the chuck 10 as the maximum numbers of claws not causing any mechanical difficulty, and an expanding slot 20 is formed in each of the claws. Thus, the parts abutting on the hub are substantially increased to 16 positions without increasing the number of claws. When the number of parts abutting on the hub is increased, the clamp force for every one of the claws can be reduced, so that the deformation of the hub can be reduced. By reducing the clamp force for every one of the claws, the driving force required for a driving means for opening and closing the chuck 10 can be reduced as well.
